Default I want to push SPAM to blackberry pearl

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, I have a blackberry pearl and I am pushing email to it from BES. Right now inbox is selected for folder redirection as well as a SPAM folder under inbox. GFI mail essentials moves any SPAM email into this SPAM folder. However the blackberry never gets any of the email in the SPAM folder, its needed to make sure email is always up because SPAM is always coming in. Im guessing that the GFI software is grabbing the email before BES sees it as new email? Does anyone have any suggestions? We tried setting a rule to copy anything that goes into SPAM folder into a new folder, but BES still doesnt see it and it doesnt show on the blackberry. I know people usually dont want spam, but in this case its to show that email is up and running because spam is coming in non stop. I appreciate any help. Thanks. Phil

Sounds stupid, but start at the basics. On the handheld go to Messages > Options > Email Settings > click bb logo key > select Folder Redirection from the menu and make sure that the handheld is showing that the SPAM folder is in fact selected for redirection.

Once verified, check to see if the handheld has the default filters enabled (the ones that say "only if it's To or CC'd to me"). That's in Messages > Options > Email filters.

If GFI is grabbing the message right away and moving into the SPAM folder then as long as you have the SPAM folder set for redirection, and it's not being filtered, you should be golden.
