Ive heard that you can recieve better prices not to mention you cut out the middle people, buy it direct from RIM. They can also offer you a trial run of the BES 4.0. Good luck.

Better pricing will come from 3rd party vendors whom you already have an established relationship with and a fairly large account (such as CDW, for example). RIM does not offer very competitive pricing for their BES software and licenses (unless you are a large account). Mobile providers are usually the ones out there trying to sell the solution to their current customers, but they, by no means, can offer the BES with any sort of discount. We have a LARGE account with T-Mobile and received no discounts for the BES nor the 100 user license purchased through them. I have beat RIM and T-Mobile quotes on a new BES and user CALs by more than thousand dollars each by going through our various vendors.

To the thread starter, if you are an individual and not part of a larger company who doesn't take a hit when dropping a few grand on productivity toys, then it'd be worth your while to look into a third party BES provider such as myblueberry.com or mailstreet.com.
