Default After patching, "send as" problem does not occur - 03-05-2007, 08:15 PM

Whenever this problem first occured a few months ago, the send as permission was revoked as soon as I installed the Exch patches.

It has been 1 hour since I installed the DST patches on the Exch server and my permissions are still correct in AD AND I am still able to send from my BB device.

Does anyone know how long it might take for the send as permissions to "break"?

They may not. I *think* the concern about the Send As getting broken is for people who had to suddenly apply Exchange SP2. We went to SP2 several months ago, when it first came out that the Send As could be broken. I honestly don't remember if we had an issue with the Send As, but we also did NOT have the problem this time around when the DST patch was applied to Exchange.

Yeah I think you are dead right there juwaack. bikerack, if you have already dealt with the send as issue, you should be immune. This was something I worked out early on in the DST fiasco but RIM seemed to have missed it and keep saying "fix send as, fix send as". I prepared for a send as break but was sure it wouldn't happen and it didn't. If you are still ok after 1 hour, I think you are fine. Obviously the time depends on your AD structure and lots of other things but unless you have tens of thousands of users, I think you would have seen the break by now.

Oh OK. Well when you put it like that, NO!

Thanks for the replies. I gave it 2 hours before I went home for the night and then another 2-3 hours before I stopped watching for the problem off and on from home. It has been 14 hours and still no problem. Time to move on to the next DST issue....

Thanks again!
