Received Mail on Blackberry!

Oh for gods sake, this is awful and excellent, I've been here for 3 hours trying to work out what the hell is wrong with my server. Thank GOD for this forum.

I'm in NYC. Just spent few hours trying to figure out what's going on with my BES. Just checking the forum now and still not working.

Still connection attempt failed when trying to ping srp.na.blackberry.net or srp.us.blackberry.net

And now my SRP connection is gone.... screw it I'm going to bed.

No kidding. This is the first place I go. And so far, I am able to SLOWLY send/recieve e-mail and blackberry messenger is sort of working between my boyfriend and I - both t-mobile 8700's, both on BES. I also recieved one BIS mail in the last hour. Its just going to take a while for the system to catch up.

Hell-O from AZ and here it is same since 6:30ish and just called bb around 10pm my time and guy said that it is RIM issue and RIM is rolling back all the changes they have made and he said that apparently RIM was not aware of the thing that whatever they were doing would affect users..... 'Hello.. were they frying beans??"

Just to put my .02 in, I managed to somehow get 1 e-mail during this outage at about 12:05AM EST. Otherwise everything is completely shot - web, e-mail, data, etc.

Started noticing issue at 7:13pm CDT here in Iowa. half our BES servers no longer have SRP connection and the others are only intermittently synching email to devices (across numerous carriers). I'm going to go get some sleep.

BIS and PIN messages are starting to flow for me.

As we speculated and RIM appears to have told WNBC, a 4 hour outage means a lot of catching up to do for the RIM Relays. I hope everyone is up and running by morning so the users don't revolt too loudly.

Time for some shut eye. Hope the system stays up through the night.

I am an even bigger idiot. i came here first, but searched posts based on the errors I am getting. Did that for hours until I had to presence of mind to hit 'new posts'.

My Houston Base BES is dead in the water.

I have 12000 pending messages, anyone got more?

I was only 12 hours away from setting up a BES in Europe. I suspect that would work since a user in India can PIN another user in Japan, but not me.

I have about close to 5000 each for 2 bes. Internationally, BES are working internationally--our UK Office is working seamlessly.

Almost midnight here in California, watching letterman, spent an hour going over my BES and the exchange server. Usually reboots work... did not find ANY info on blackberry support or RIM! But found this page and forum link under BES Admin Corner!!!

YES a network outage status page would be fabulous!! Sounds like they are really messed up bad!!!

Is RIM/Blackberry in Canada? Is Canadian Service ok? I read North America, so I'm assuming Canada is down as well, headquarters being there.

Agreed. Just noticed my mail wasn't working so I checked the forum to see if anyone else is having the same problem.

I am starting to see messages be delivered, but it looks like there is a large backlog and it is slow... but there appears to be progress.

My Servers are starting to route email but there is a HUGE backllog given how long this has been down for.

I am in Canada and I am seeing pretty much the same thing as everyone here. A few messages are getting through but they are several hours behind. I hope RIM has mostly straight by morning or there will be some very upset people.

I am going for a nap, so far 22 hours of being awake! I saw some deliveries again but its not stable. This is going into the morning for sure, as in late morning. Looks like it will be cleared by the early afternoon!

I was really hoping I was going to wake up and this would be over... <sigh> and I still see no information about this outage on RIM's site.

I just talked with the NEW AT&T's desk to desk support line...they said that "60% of SRPs have been reconnected but there is a huge backlog. RIM is expecting the rest to be reconnected by 7am EDT, but the backlogs may continue for several hours."

Just a few weeks before the conference... ouch.

You are lucky amukhey now that the day is beginning my pending is actually going UP.... <sigh>

Amazing - Still down. A company and product of this size to be down for this long is insane. If we were down for this long, we would be out of business -)

Finally and outage that is not my problem

Working right now in Atlanta...8700c Exch BES. I have heard from a Nextel BES user that they're not getting emails, though. Sporadically came back just before 7:00 a.m. EST. for us.

Our corporate BES-based data services seem to have resumed in the Washington, DC area (Cingular). Backlog caught up and new messages delivered straight away.

DarienA, your pending will come down soon enough. Since they are back online (unofficially), once the queue clears up on the whole NA network, you will be fine. Inform your user's that it will take some time for the bottleneck to clear up. Good Luck to y'all today, its gona be one of those days!

FOLLOWUP: Had a Nextel BES user who had to power-off/on before messages started flowing...
