I'd be a pretty crappy BES Admin if I hadn't done that already. ;) And I wasn't saying that all handhelds except mine are sending and receiving completely normal, just a few users have started to see some messages move(which is also what I'm seeing on the BES, most folks are still dead in the water though).

Just spoke to T-Mobile Business Customer Care... they have no idea. ha

I did get one new piece of info from T-Mobile apparently another byproduct of this outage is that some handhelds are now having trouble registering on the server. Mine is one of them as I noticed just before I called them that I'm now not seeing the EDGE indicator on my 8700 in full caps.

As of about 8:30am Eastern time our BES started working again. 30 minutes in and it's still up!

@DarienA - well, I just had to ask

BTW, we're seeing some EDGE users' devices working, and others not. The older GPRS devices seem to be coming back around - some needing a re-set...

FYI- Tmobile and Cingular Network are not a 100% up and running so doing a wipe handheld and rebuilding the user will be pointless if you cannot get EDGE on a 87x device.

We have a small rollout 23 users and it looks like all except for 6 of us are 100% back up. I'm starting to see some movement on those last 6(including myself), but I still see pending emails that haven't made it to my handheld(or those other 5).

Default SRP Reconnects - Any RIM prioritization noticed or just random? - 04-18-2007, 10:22 AM

Hey all, our SRP's started reconnecting at about 4:30 AM CST, while others here on the board still have yet to reconnect. We just upgraded to Tx3 this year, I wonder if RIM prioritized their SRP reconnects based on Tx level? Anybody else with Tx3 or higher see reconnects earlier rather than later? Attached is my BB probe log showing when we starting getting messages through.

I want to know why as a T2 subscriber none of our admins on the support contract got an email about this.
Did anyone at all get an email from RIM?

I'm Tx2 and I haven't even heard a whisper from them. Considering what we pay for the support contract, I'm even less happy with RIM.

My server is connecting and e-mail is flowing, but it keeps going up and down even more frequently than it was last night. And I am having problems on a 7520 where the device is showing that new mail came in, but no new mail is to be found on the device... This is going to be such a fun day!!! grrrrrr and boo for painfully slow BBforums.

Some one needs to post a STICKY about the RIM server outage at 8pm last night, that RIM is working to restore it's service but is worried about the flood of emails etc that will follow soon after.

Even the local carriers here are informing their customers of the problem and aren't saying for sure when it will be resolved. Even my carrier will not push their GRPS through, so our new phones are stuck at the "grps" lower case until the RIM issue is solved.

mahowardl, How come your attached log file shows the receipt time is before the send time of each "probe?"

Default A Little Strange Fallout - 04-19-2007, 07:41 AM

Most of my users started working after RIM's network came back up. A small number, myself included, were in a state where wireless PIM synch worked fine in both directions, but the only Messages folder action was for Sent messages. No new messages were received on the devices since the network outage.

Deleting CMIME and resending the service books bought nada. An in-place wireless reactivation was equally useless and no absolutely no action for the users showed in the corresponding MAGT logs.

Only an account and device wipe, followed by a reinstatement and reactivation from scratch fixed the issue.

Anyone else experience similar fallout? It seems a little more than coincidence that the problem started with RIM's network fallout. I'd sure like to know the exact cause and a less intensive recovery method, but guess I should be happy that the wipe and clean reactivation worked.

bradhs, the server times are off by a few minutes, which is why my probes seem to go back in time...
