"Here are the necessary registry changes for your hosted BlackBerry Enterprise Server that will enable users to do contact lookups and distribution list lookups from their BlackBerry’s without any chance of looking up users from different hosted organizations.
The following keys would need to be created and configured, in order to restrict users to viewing the address lists of their own organizational unit, but not the entire Global Address List (please consult the "Configuring address lookup support in a hosted environment" section of the BES System Administration Guide for more details on the below keys configuration.)
HostedServer = 1
LDAPALPSearch = 1
LDAPSearch = 1
LDAPCompanyField = msExchQueryBaseDN ()
Please note that the BESAdmin account must be able to read msExchQueryBaseDN attribute of all the user accounts. Since usually multi-tenant hosted Exchange environments do not have rights propagation turned on for customer OUs, please make sure Read permissions for the BlackBerry service administration account (BESAdmin) account are configured appropriately.
RIM suggests the msExchQueryBaseDN () field as one of the more logical fields to consider using, but you can use a custom attribute field if you have implemented them in your environment."
RIM's words above, although all you really need is the HostedServer dword value under the agents field. I find doing LDAP slows down a server dramatically
