Default Moving Users to another BES server cause's Enterprise activation icon to appear?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all, put up a new BES server, 4.06 for exchange. I've noticed on my new BES server, sometimes when I move some users over, it causes activation icon to appear, and need to reactivate in order to send mail. Receiving email still seems to work, but in order to send need re-activate. NEW Srp gets updates on service book, but can't send. Any ideas? Thanks

As long as I know moving users from one BESserver to another works fine as long as those servers share config database. Not clear from your post if that what it is you are doing. And HH OS should be at the minimum 4.0 or higher.

When you move a user from one BES server to another, it will go through the EA on the device. If you move the user then look at EA on the device you will see the synchronization, just like on the initial activation. Moving a user between BES servers will not cause the EA icon to appear on the home screen.

"as long as those servers share config database"
Yes, of-course how would you do it otherwise, besides some hacks out there with exporting info from the database and re-importing?"

"And HH OS should be at the minimum 4.0 or higher"
Yes, devices are 4.0 and above

"Moving a user between BES servers will not cause the EA icon to appear on the home screen."
Yes, exactly, that's why I'm posting because it's happening. Strangely enough the new SRP is sent to device, and the device can even receive email, but can't send. I called T-Support intially, but they were of no help. The only solutio I have found is either to re-activate, or move them back to another server then move them again to new BES server. The strange here is if you are familiar with moving BES accounts, until the mailbox re-scan is completed after the move if you look at user stats (bes 4.0 here on exchange), it will show server A, B running until the mailbox scan is complete. The strange thing here is it will show server A, A runnig very weird.

Hey mendes9, I have run into issues when I move 50 or more accounts at one time, but if you are only doing one or a few then it's probably a different issue. If you are doing bulk moves check out my blog post on the possible pitfalls:

Update: Re-creating the mapi profile on this bes server, seems to have solved the issue.
