I have some users complaining they can't find email back in their Lotus Notes sent folder when sent from the handheld. It appears that if a person has added his or her personal title in the person document this will show at the handheld's lookup. It arrives in the notes mailbox sent folder as e.g. Mr. John Doe instead of just John Doe. Finding back messages when sorted on name is a bit of a drag that way.
Is there any way to prevent the personal title field from being used by the handheld ?

I don't think so. The personal title is one of the lookup return field.

I recently had to tackle this for a user...what I did was create an agent that simply set the "title" field to "" - I was going to use "0", which is what it defaults to, but had some odd display issues in the personal address book.

Problem solved - user didn't really care about that field to much...

"JobTitle" is the field they cared about...

Unfortunately, unlike the address book field mappings which are customizable, it appears that lookup field mappings are hardcoded and cannot be changed.

Also, this is a "feature" of the BlackBerry 4.1 handheld software.

In 4.1 handheld they started formatting email as "John Smith" <jmith@domain.com> including the personal title.
