Default Can't Delete Emails

Please Login to Remove!

Hmmm. Not sure if this is the right forum, but I think this is a BES problem.

Presently, if I receive emails from my linked work email account (using BES) and I read the email, I am no longer able to delete the email from my device. I will hit delete, receive the confirmation dialogue, choose to delete the email, and then be returned to the inbox to find the email still sitting there. Even stranger, when I go and check the status of the email in Outlook, the email has been deleted.

My Yahoo emails showing up in my inbox, however, are not exhibiting this behavior. They still can be deleted as expected.

One other difference is that the icon next to the emails from my work email account are folders, whereas the icons next to my Yahoo email account emails look like envelopes. This change happened on Monday, I believe. Prior to that, all of my emails had the envelope icon next to them and could be deleted in the ordinary and expected manner.

Any ideas? This seems to have my BES administrator stumped.

what kind of device you are using? I heard of that kind of problems with specific device software, as a known bug.

There's an issue with the 8100 & 8800 models in combination with Domino. Whenever template changes are made on these devices users might not be able to delete messages any longer. Those new incoming messages show with a blue folder instead of a yellow envelope. This issue is addressed in SP7 for 4.0 (to be released in June), until then you will have to backup and restore the messages to the device, in certain cases backup, wipe and restore and re-activate the entire device. Hope this helps.

Is this BES 4.0 Domino issue only?

Hey x14,

We ran into the same thing on an 8800...we're using Domino 6.5.5/BES 4.1.3

Applied hotfix2 for 4.1.3, and it appears to have taken care of the problem.

Hope this helps...
