Exclamation BES Activation Question - Simple and Time sensitive!!

Please Login to Remove!

We are attempting to active a user on BES. They have been running BIS for quite some time. I have deleted the BIS E-mail accounts and Deleted the service books.

My question (Before we activate) is what will happen to the current inbox
on the 8100. He has approximately over 400 messages (some of which are un-read). Will they be over-written? Will his current inbox combine with them?
Should we proceed with activation or delete all messages prior? If we delete them I am presuming that his entire Inbox will migrate over.

(Edit - In addition the the Enterprise Activation will anything have to be done with the Host Routing Tables?)

Anything would be *greatly* appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

E-

Take a backup of his device through Desktop Manager. An enterprise activation should not have any impact on the messages currently on the device and they should be merged within the same messages view.

Jibii,

Thank you so much for the quick response. Will it reconcile or will duplicates be created? Sorry for the follow-up question, I just want to be VERY right on this one!

JS or NJ....either one of you willing to take a look at my question? There are going to start calling for his BB and I will need to restore BIS if I can't get it activated today....

Also still open question on the HRT

Thanks so much!

The BIS emails will still be on the device but they will in no way sync to the BES account. The BES account will start to forward messages to the BB from the activation point forward. No old messages will be sent to the device.
