I've been asked to research blocking sending and receiving of images from a group of our blackberry devices for security reasons. I've seen the media content management area but this seems to be a global rather than policy group setting. It is possible?
From an initial standpoint, I'd look into the Attachment Service options within the BlackBerry Server Configuration utility. I believe you can uncheck Images from the distiller list.

I agree with Jibi. as far as I know you can, 1. block images globally or 2. block all attachments through IT policy - which could be applied to a certain group. but it doesn't appear to be an option to block one type of attachment through policy.

Absolutely not a suggestion, but if it's only a global setting, then you could possibly build out another BB server for that group of users. As I said, not really a feasible option, but..

Ok, one more quick question on this. If I turn off the image distiller will it stop users recieving and sending images files or will it just stop them receiving as the blackberry will not know what to do with the files?
If you turn of the image distiller the BES simply won't know how to render the file/image for the BlackBerry. It won't impact the devices ability to send / receive images; only the ability to view the images.
