Default How do I...

How can I set the home page and start page on the internet browser to be the same for all my users? I've been setting them manually on each unit because I couldn't find the option on the BES, but we have over 300 users here and its tedious to do them all by hand.

Also recently Ive had users unable to access our web application because the the start page was changed to "bookmarks page" instead of "homepage" as I had set manually. This happened on many units simultaneously so It can only assume it came from the BES. What was the cause for this?

My users are very nontechnical and they wont be able to even find our web app if its not presented to them when they click on the internet browser.

use IT policy in BES to setup default home page, and make it read only, you can do it for BB browser

I need to set the "start page" as well, And apparently BB browser doesn't allow that option.

The start page is different from home page, its what you get when you first start the browser.

Also why would it be reset by it self. No one touched the BES as far as I am aware.

So does any one know why these settings would be resetting en mass? And how to prevent it in the future?

Start page is where is goes when it starts, home page is where it goes when you choose "home".

On a BB open the Internet browser(not the BlackBerry browser), go to Options->Browser Configuration. There is a field called "Start page" Its options are "Bookmarks Page", "Home Page", and "Last Page Loaded".

We had manually set all the units to use "Home Page" before deploying them. But lats week all at the same time a large number of units had the option set back to "Bookmarks Page".

My only guess as to why this happened is that the BES made the units reset it. But as far as I know only me and one other guy has access to it and neither of us touched it.

this can happen when service provider push new service book or IB update to devices, you can disable update from service provider in IT policy for BES 4.1 SP3
