after assigning a handheld to a user, i go to Ports under Handheld Management in the Blackberry Manager. Under 'Status' it says "Provisioning handheld". How long will it be in this status? I have left it for 3 hours and nothing is happening. I refresh often, but no change? Is it supposed to take this long?
Just to elaborate a bit on my restart bes... sometimes while provisioning a user, ODBC will get buggered up either making the connection or breaking the connection to the MSDE/SQL. It happened to me once and I know a few other people who have come to me with a simular problem. Restarting BES will generally sort out the ODBC issue between it and the database...
It hasn't happened with BES4 that I know of yet, mostly 3.6...
i've tried restarting bes, and also re-provisioning but still getr the same thing. Also, when i go to the user list, the status of the user i'm trying to add is stuck on "initializing".
I'm also trying to add a new user. I've tried restarting the services, restarted the server itself (this is a horrible thing to have to do), removed and readded the user (assume this is what you mean by "reprovisioning"), had the user reload desktop software, restarted services after deleting then restarted services after re-adding user, I'm getting NOWHERE. This is getting extremely frustrating. Only a problem with one user/handheld. I'm running BES 3.6 by the way. Please help! Cheerio mateys
I'm so new at this... I kind of got thrown into the BB admin role in the past few days... I'm trying to pick up as much as I can about BES and the blackberries.... One of my users' status is set on "initializing" but everything seems to be working fine.
