XML file formats are supported in BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1 Service Pack 4 - KB 13306

Documents created in Microsoft® Office 2007 applications are based on Extensible Markup Language (XML) file formats. BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1 Service Pack 4 supports XML file formats. This allows for better data integration between documents and back-end systems.

Supported XML file types include .docx, .dotx, .xlsx, .pptx, and .ppsx.

and? if you look in the thread a bit down on office '07 docs you'll see that its definately noted that SP4 supports Office '07 doc format types...

...as i was quickly reminded by a sage RIM employee recently, don't consider any feature 'final' and 'definite' until the a product has been released. all features are subject to change without notice (and if you've noticed, RIM loves to do that).
