Default Blackberry MDS??

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if someone could help me get around Blackberry MDS. Currently we've got a BES Server (4.0) running that handles all our mail. However we've been asked if we can make it so that we can run some of our internal apps (CRM etc) on the Blackberry's for out of office use?

Am I right in thinking that MDS is the way forward for this?

How does it work? Separate download/purchase or is it included in v4.1 of the BES server software? If its separate, i assume it'll sit along side a BES server that'll handle the mail?

Also is v4.1 a lot more feature-rich compared to v4.0? Just looking at the specs it seems there is quite a lot more that can be done with v4.1.

Any help, pointers, links etc greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Andy

Yes, I believe MDS is the answer.

From my research, all the new 4.1.x servers, have MDS services available as standard.

Also, there is a seperate MDS only BES server available, if you dont have e-mail requirements, but it costs the same as a BES for Domino or Exchange.

Thanks for the quick reply. As per my other thread, we'll be upgrading to v4.1 soon so hopefully should be able to get this working.

Cheers
