Default Help New Install of BES

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys

First thing, Have been asked to install BES and setup blackberry's for one of our clients. I have been given the task of this as i have dealt with BES admin before but i have never installed it from the beginning.

Here is what we have atm.
Windows sbs 2k is running and has the imbuilt exchange server.
we have added a 2003 Server box to run BES.

BES box is on the domain and all working with exchange system manager.
I have installed BES and have tried to connect the Blackberry i have here with me to it but all i get on the blackberry is Activating and it sits there retrying.

My question is there a manual or procedure i can follow to install this properly and get the Blackberry's connected?
Also is there a list of ports that should be allowed through to the bes box?

any help would be appreciated.

The best manual for this will be the one provided in the Installation Guide. BBAdmin, one of our moderators, has also done a pre-reqs and installation guide that's a sticky in the Exchange sub-forum to this forum. But in all honesty, if you haven't read the Installation Guide, which I'm assuming you haven't, then you need to start there. This isn't just one of those things you can unzip and run setup.exe, unfortunately.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.

Note: See the amount of posts jibi has ...

take that as proof positive that you need to read the manual. I don't know how many installs I've done and I still have the install guide with me for every production installation I do.
