Default Resolved issues with BB & Calendaring

Please Login to Remove!

I noticed many entries relating to the same issue we had with blackBerry and Exchange Calendaring not playing together properly - worked one way only.

Depending on how you installed BlackBerry Enterprise Server and any updates, you may have a serious, yet simple to resolve registry issue.

First log into the exchange server as the "besadmin" account (whatever you used to install with) and verify all the exchange permissions are correct and the besadmin has local admin access (NOT domain admin).

Then, open regedit and verify that under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles" you have the appropriate entries - Some CDO entries, Blackberry Manager, Blackberry server...

If they don't exist, make a backup of "profiles", then delete profiles and reconfigure again - By clicking Start, All Programs, Blackberry Enterprise Server, and then select "Edit MAPI file".

All you need do is enter the server name, and the account you installed Blackberry Enterprise Server under.

Then restart all blackberry services.

That's it!

Thanks,

Danny

Thanks,
I have done all of the above + I have also searched the forum and verified my setting but I still have the one-way synch issue. I don't know what else to do.

Question.... it appears what you've typed is more towards BES running on the same box as Exchange...

What about Exchange server on one box (or many boxes)... and BES on its own?

BESAdmin having local admin rights is only needed on the BES server, not the exchange servers, right?

And those reg keys should only exist on the BES server, not the Exchange servers, right?

BESAdmin only needs local admin rights on the BES, not the Exchange server.

Those keys only reference the BES; correct.

Default One-way calendar

I am having the one-way calendar sync issue with one out of 6 users on or BES. Nothing has changed on the server side-everything was okay until the one phone was replaced September 1st. Now it only sends calendar entries from outlook to the device but not the other way around. I have deleted the user, reloaded the user, downgraded the user's software from 4.2.1xx to 4.2.9x. Can't understand why this is only affecting the one user. Am I missing something simple?
