Memo sync to GroupWise
 

We are installing Blackberry Enterprise Server with GroupWise.

With Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.0.1.10, the sync options for Memos include GroupWise 6.5. What element of GW is considered the Memos? If it syncs to the Notes portion of GW, that is a date-dependent area.

I am converting my use from the Palm OS, in which the Palm Desktop software has its own Memo utility. This is my only real obstacle to making the conversion from Palm to BB.

When you write up a memo on your blackberry, it will show up in your inbox kind of like a a new email, categorized in with your existing email in chronological order sorted as the date/time you saved the memo on the device.

I may have to retool my organizational thinking, but I have perhaps 30-40 existing "memos" that I store on my Palm, all undated, and I'm looking for options to move them into the BB.

Just wondering if others have made this Palm-to-BB conversion, and what their strategies were......?

I've converted a few palm users, and you can import them on to the blackberry using the desktop manager. They will sync with your desktop groupwise client as well. When I meant they were sorted in groupwise, that is in your desktop client. On the blackberry itself, they are in the memopad application sorted alphabetically.

My reconcile option keeps going away. I can re pull my sync Service Book and it will show up but still will not sync to GW. Then after I try and add another memo it will go away again. Any help?

You could have started a new thread since this one is from last year.

What version of BES to you have and what version of GroupWise Client on the BES?

Im lazy... J/k I have GW 7 and BES 4.1. Other clients work fine but just mine seems to do this.

GroupWise 7 on the BES?
Uninstall that and get 6.5.6 Update 1 (6.5.7) and you will be much happier

Need 7 for Groupwise moble push so all the other stupid smart phones can get there email like us BB users....

All other BBs are fine with the memo sync just one not working as I stated before.

Have you actually tested this? I am under the impression you are one of 5 people who actually use memos.

Yes the others work and I tested them. Its just my device. I really dont use memos but I saw that my phone was not syncing them properly. I am a network engineer and just got thrown in to be the BES Admin as well so I am trying to learn as much as I can and this one issue just seemed strange.

What do you mean originally that your reconcile option goes away?

That when you go to memo-options-wireless sync its there but then when I make a new memo and go back to look at the options the wireless sync is gone untill i do a delete/undelete of the service book. And the memo never shows on the GW cleint as a posted note. All other syncs work mail/cal/task, but not memo. There is not an IT policy other then the default which I have control over.

Downgrade your GroupWise client.

Its not the client thats the issue..... Others are fine... and No I am not going to drop the GW server to 6.5 because I already rolled out the 7 client to over 1500 workstations. Guess no one can help with this.
