Default Problems with folders

Please Login to Remove!

Sorry, me again.

Got a couple of issues with folder synchronisation on the BB device.

Firstly, all mail sent via Outlook appears to be synchronised to the BB and appears together with inbox items in one flat list. I can opt to hide sent items on the device which removes them but can I stop such emails being sent from the Exchange box altogether as it's a waste of bandwidth? Mails sent from the BB should still be uploaded and appear in the user's Sent Items folders but I don't want the opposite to happen, is this possible or is it an all-or-nothing sync with the Sent Items folder? If the latter, can the mails be better organised on the BB so there's a separate folder for Sent Items, a la Outlook?

Secondly, mails which are deleted from the Inbox in Outlook are often refusing to go from the BB. This isn't hard-deletes, all the mails are in the Deleted Items folder in Outlook. Sometimes they go from the BB and sometimes not, any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Toby.

I don't know of a way to do a one-way sync for this; I think you're stuck with 2KB of data for each sent message unfortunately. I'm not sure what would be better than the way it is normally done.

How long are you waiting for the deletes to reconcile? If you're not using cached mode expect up to 20 minutes ... if you are using cached mode I'd expect up to 30 minutes (or however often your clients send/receive sync + 20 minutes)

Thanks for that, I'll do some testing with the deletes, pretty sure cached mode is enabled so that could account for the delay.

As for the sent items, basically just want one-way sync of the sent items folder from the BB to Exchange and not the other way. If it's sent from the BB then a local copy is obviously kept and it needs to go up to Exchange for long-term achival but I see little need for items sent from the desktop to be downloaded to the BB. Surprise there's no option for this tbh.

Is there no way to separate out the inbox and sent items on the BB so they don't all appear in a single list - it's very confusing the way it is.

You might not see the need for it but do your users? Imagine that email you wrote in the office that you need to refer to while you're out with a client - and there's your reason!!!

As for the sent mail, no way around this for one way sync (all or nothing) - though for 2KB of compressed data does it really matter?????
