HMC 4.0 Greenfield, Exchange 2007 and BES I am trying to ensure BES will work fine on an environment with HMC 4.0 and Exchange 2007. On a plain environment, without HMC 4.0, everything is fine. When I installed BES 4.1.4 to the HMC 4.0/Exchange 2007 test environment, everything looked fine. However, when I run BB Manager (or Edit MAPI Profile for BES), I am receiving "Name could not be resolved" or "Bookmark is invalid" errors. I know these errors are GAL related, but I can't find a fix. Besadmin is view only admin for Exchange 2007, local administrator, its other extended permissions such as send as, etc is set on Exchange 2007 as well. As a test, I logged onto the bes box with a domain admin account and MAPI worked fine. So it is permissions somewhere, but I don't know where to look (I am getting my way around Exchange 2007, but no expert). Anyone worked with HMC 4.0 and BES? Any ideas is appreciated. |
Check to make sure that your BES Admin account is in an OU in AD that it has access to read / list. I've not tested with HMC 4.0; only with 3.5 with the feature pack but I'm assuming this is much of the same thing. Also, make sure BESAdmin has access to view the Default GAL (as HMC most likely would have removed this for you.) |
Yes, I opened ADSIEdit, went to CN=Default Global Address List,CN=All Global Address Lists,CN=Address Lists Container,CN=HMC 40 Green Field Test,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=ad,DC=dom ain,DC=biz And add Read and Open List permissions, voila it seems to work now :) I'll report when I finish activating a device/user. |
sweet, guess I did remember some of that stuff :) |
Calendar (from device and from OWA), emails work. The lookup returns other domains, but that's because I haven't set the reg key on BES yet. So, all looks promising :) |
For those that don't know of the reg key it is located in the Sys Admin guide, Chapter 2, "Configuring Address lookup support in a hosted environment" |
