Default SQL 2000 server rights

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everybody, I'm supposed to be a good Bes Admin but unfortunatly I thing I have some holes in my knowledge

I wanted to know if one of you had the list of the rights BESadmin user should have on the BESMgmt SQL database?

In fact I ask this becaus last week we had to shutdown our hole infrastructure and now when I want to open Blackberry Manager it asks me each time for the password to access the database...

Thanks a lot in advance for you answers.

Best regards

Matthieu

Who are you launching the BlackBerry as? From what computer / server? are you using SQL auth or Windows auth. There's a simple answer, but I'd like to give you a complete answer.

It sound like your authentication method has changed from Windows Authentication to SQL Server Authentication. Speak with your DBA.

...one thing to note on this blog entry, albeit not related to RBA, would be the requirement of sysadmin permissions for applying upgrade installations (if a database update is to be made). If not permissioned, the installation could turn sour and a restore from backup (which we hopefully made prior to the upgrade attempt) will have to be performed.

Adding to what I've state earlier, the required permissions must be granted prior an upgrade installation otherwise you will be huanted by the infamous error - "DB Upgrade failed. Error executing SQL statements". And you will be spending some splendid time going through these articles:-
