Default Blackberry causing Outlook Problems

Please Login to Remove!

We are currently running a Blackberry server with Exchange. When a user that is on the BES creates a meeting in Outlook (Client) and the attendee accepts the meeting request, their name will appear in the meeting 2 to 3 times. This problem only occurs when a user that is on the BES is creating the meeting in Outlook. I have tested this with a user that is not on the BES and the problem doesn’t happen. Any help would be sweet! I have been trying to fix this for weeks with no luck.

Check out the versions of CDO.DLL that are on BES and Exchange.
Whenver there is a calendar problem, it is related to CDO.DLL.....

Do either of these users have any rules or special permissions set within their Calendars? Any delegates? With CDO versions the same it doesn't seem that BES would be the culprit.

Do you have any other middleware that interacts with Exchange?

I'm not convinced BlackBerry is causing the problem, but does seem to be involved indirectly. I'm not sure yet, but I thought I'd jump on the thread to pick up the reponses in case anything jogs my memory.

We have exacly the same problem, reapplying the Blackberry patch or the Exchange SP2 fixes it for a while but it comes back.

Turning off the Blackberry server also fixes it

Anybody got any other ideas?

Default KB Article

Here's what I found about this problem on Microsoft's site.

A response from a meeting request recipient is processed as a new attendee when the meeting request recipient cannot be resolved to an Active Directory contact

The problem with this KB is that there is no resolution!

So, does this only happen when the BB user sends a meeting request to someone who is also listed as a contact in your GAL? Or does it consistently happen with all meeting requests he sends? Does it also occur if he sends a request to another employee on the same exchange server?

Default Exchange

This happends when a user on the BES sends a meeting request to someone in our domain. It doesnt matter if the user on the BES sends it from Outlook or the Blackberry device.
