Default BB not able to forward

Hello, forum. I am a technician, who just became in charge of a BES site. Site is only 5 users. 2k box with 2k3 exchange on it. All users except the president (of course) can reply from their BB. He has to SMS people back. I am not familiar with BES, I did not set it up, really not the best at exchange, but I know I will become proficient soon.....I just need a little direction.

At my shop we receive to our echange server, and the server fowards to the BB users created on AD. With a BES how does that work? If he cannot foward is it a device issue? Exchange issue? or BES issue?
