Hi - I'm the admin for a company that has BES installed for 20 users. The problem is, they won't get me a Blackberry even though I support it.

I was wondering the best way to verify if mail is being sent/received in real time - something in performance monitor?

BlackBerry Resource Kit (BRK). Search google for BlackBerry BRK and it'll be the first hit. Download the BRK to match the same version you have and peruse the user guide.

As a quick test you can always send a message to a BB user with <confirm> in the subject of a message. The HH will send a response when it is received / processed. (make sure to do have the < and > signs).

Wow, sorry to hear that itdude. I use my status as BB admin to get all the good stuff I can. I of course have to have the 8830 to support the 2 users that have it. I mean, what if they should call with a question? How will I know how to help them?

Surely you can get them to stump up for 1x extra 'berry for the guy who keeps it' all running..

have a look at the idokorro stuff, and think about the benefit of being able to admin your servers from a 'berry - working deskside and get a call that the MD's forgotten his password (again) - hop on the berry and re-set.

besides surely if you don't use the device you can't tell the staff (easily) about all the good stuff they've not yet found..like address boook lookup...

lol, I do the same. I have one user with an 8800, but nobody got one before me!!

we only have 20 or so users here, but I was able to make a business case for the practicality of giving the BB admin a BB and it doesn't hurt to make nice with the department that has the biggest budget
