Hello, I have a problem that was just dropped in my lap when our system administrator quit and walked out of the office. We changed the local administrator password on the machine running the BES server, but now our blackberry service is down and the logs say it's not authenticating. Unfortunately I'm relatively new to BES management and am not sure where/how to update my password info. so that authenticating comes through, a little help to get this shitstorm solved would be great. The blackberry service on the BES interface is stopped and won't restart without authentication.

Open Windows Services and check the BES Services and how they log on. Since you changed the password and they are running on a local account, give it a nice reboot.

Just to verify: are you sure it is the local admin password and not the domain admin password? If this is the case, check the windows services and verify you change the password for each BES Service.

Also, find out how does the sql database authenticate? Using the local admin account or domain admin account? If these passwords have been changed, you would have to change the authentication for it too.

Is this Domino or Exchange?

start --> run --> services.msc <enter>

look for all the services starting with BlackBerry; it'll tell you who it is running as. you'll want to update them appropriately and then restart the services.
