Default Reconcile Now Missing

Please Login to Remove!

I run a BES that has 120 users.
We run Blackberry Manager 4.1.3.18
Lately, we have complaints from a lot of users, saying that the RECONCILE NOW option has disappeared.
This wouldn't be a problem, except that when this disappears, the handheld stops synching with their mailbox.
According to the Blackberry Support Website, it could be one of three causes:
1) The Service Book is corrupt
2) The Wireless Reconciliation option is not enabled on the BES
3) The Blackberry Database is corrupt and requires reactivation

Resending the service book makes no difference.
The wireless reconciliation IS enabled on the BES
Reactivating the handheld works, but it's a pain in the proverbial.
We are finding that we are having to do this regularly. Even after a handheld is reactivated, the user has a month of worry free emails before it happens again.

I am wondering if anybody knows why this continually occurs.
If so, how can we nip it in the bud, so I don't have to reactivate handhelds every day?

To be honest, I've never had much luck resending the service books from the BES, but what does work for me in this case is to go into the service books on the blackberry and delete the desktop [synch] service book, exit and go back in and undelete.

I've seen this issue quite a bit with corrupt service books. If that doesn't work I'm not sure how to verify whether it's a db issue or not..

I'll give that a go. However, it still begs the question; Why does this keep happening?

Default Reconcile Now

Hi there,
I just went through this with a user this morning. After going through the recommended RIM fixes and finding that nothing worked, I ended up downloading and reloading the BB Java OS via the Desktop Manager.

His BB 7130E with current OS and Desktop Manager 4.0.
BES 4.1 on Exchange 2003.

After the OS reloaded, the Reconcile Now button appears. Tested with user and all is working. Make sure to TURN ON wireless reconcile on the Options on the BB.

Regards,
Team Univar

I'm still wondering WHY?
I can get the BB working again, easily enough. Just wondering what the underlying cause is, and how to rectify it

Our is not to reason why etc. etc. etc...

Actually I have the same question, RIM will not help in this dept. Post any findings you may discover and I will do the same.

Try turning reconcile OFF on the HH, save, turn it back ON and save it.
It worked for me before...Beats me why though...
