Default BB - Cannot reply to e-mails !

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

Something weird is happening to one of my BB users. I only have 2 users with BB. Yesterday, one of the users told me that he could not reply to any e-mails on BB. When he replied he got a red X. I also saw an error in the log files on the server. The other user is not having any problems.

Here is something interesting I did see on the user account. When the user reported the error, I checked his account to make sure BESADMIN account was listed under Security Tab. It was NOT Listed. So, I re-added it and made sure it had Send As permission.

This is what I have tried with NO Success:

* I have BES server 4.1.4.15 - I believe the latest

1. Made sure the Send As permissions where not revoked from the user.
2. Restarted the BB Router and waited 20 minutes.
3. Resend Service Books.
4. Re-did Enterprise Activation.

Any thoughts on this? The only thing I guess is to try to Delete the user and re-add him on the Blackberry Server.

Thanks,

P

1. Was he ever able to do so? Data coverage available at the time?
2. Was he able to receive?
3. Was global cathalog restarted prior to this?
4. Restart dispatcher service or reboot BES server.

1. Yes, he was able to reply to messages before. It started all of a sudden.
2. Yes, he received all e-mails but could not reply. I dont know if he could or could not create a new e-mail from BB.
3. Global Catalog - Are you asking if I restarted my Global Catalog Server?
4. I did restart all the sevices. But I have not rebooted the BES/Exchange server. They reside on the same box.

E-mail problem fixed.

This morning I send an e-mail to my user and he was able to reply to it. I did not do anything special this morning. I really don't know how worked this morning.

Thanks,

P

Hi everyone, I am having the same problem with 4 out of 15 BB users. They have different devices, so I don't think it's a device problem.

I'm using BES 4.0.7 with exchange 2003SP2. I've checked the send as properties for besadmin user, and it's fine. I've even tried creating a second user, besmailer out of the domain admins group, just for the link between BES and Exchange, while keeping BB services as besadmin. Nothing. I tried stopping the server for 20 minutes as indicated in BB doc, nothing. I removed one of the users with problems, shut down the server for 20 mins again, restarted, created the server and rerun the activation process, nothing.

I've been watching the user stats on the BES manager while an user sent a mail, and the mail seems to be received by the BES, but for some reason not forwarded to Exchange.

Does anyone know how could I fix this? (Even if the fix is "upgrade to 4.1/4.2")

Thanks!
