Default Disappearing appointments

Please Login to Remove!

BES 3.6 (3.6.2.14)
Exchange 5.5 (SP4)

Afew of our users have a strange problem with their calendars, Iam not sure what I should be looking at. I have checked the Mailbox wins settings already.

I havent checked the Time Zone settings yet, but will check.

Mr.A sends a meeting invite to Mr.B
Mr.B accepts the invite
But the entry doesnt appear in the calendar both on Outlook and BB.

Now this is happening to ONLY blackberry users, which is why I think its blackberry related rather then just an exchange issue.

Anyone seen this ?

Had a problem like this with users with Blackberries, PDAs and laptops with offline files. Found this on the internet, showed the users and the problems have since gone away!

Quote:
Do your meetings keep vanishing - If you run Outlook on two computers (or PDA) and accept a meeting while using one of them, don't delete the meeting request from the Inbox on the other computer. If the request is still there, accept it again. Deleting a request on one computer after accepting it on another computer can cause the meeting to disappear from your calendar
That could be it

Thanks, I know this since the USN number of new and hence the new one takes precedence. I have tried various combination using my BB and cant replicate the problem these otehr users are getting. so I guess it must be something else causing this.

Its intermittent which is also a problem. any other ideas ?

But you cant accept a meeting request from the BB device, so once its accepted via outlook it will be deleted from the outlook client and will be removed from the BB device automatically.

CDO versions are the same as the Exchange server and registered in the correct places (I think system32 for 3.6)...?

The CDO versions are the same, but the strange thing is that this doesnt happen to all blackberry users, just afew.

I have recreated the encrpytion key, removed /added the user back stopped and restarted BES and now waiting to see if any these have made any difference.

Just an extra step that may or may not help (test this on your own before a director, obviously). But set the PIM back to MS Outlook, then go into Backup/Restore > Advanced and clear the Calendar database (to remove all appointments). Then set the PIM back to BlackBerry Wireless Sync and do a Synchronize Now to enable it (I think thats what you had to do with 3.6). Just make sure the calendar appointments are populating back to the handheld.

Again, that may do absolutely nothing aside from 5 minutes worth of your time wasted, so its up to you.

Will give that a try, no harm in doing it, infact I can only benefit.
