Default 8300 Curve on BES/Exchange 2007...No send or receive..Help!

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all, I have a fully functional Blackberry Enterprise Server 4.14 on Windows Server 2003 and Exchange 2007. There are five users. The 7xxx model Blackberrys are fully functional. The two 8300 Curves are not.

I can do a wired activation and they both activate and sync the Exchange mailboxes but then nothing. I cannot do a wireless activation. These are brand new 8300 Blackberrys.

I have deleted the users from the BB server and I have wiped the 8300s several times with the same results; they are not functional!

Let me know if anyone needs any other logs posted.

I have included part of the MAGT log below:

Try setting them up with your carriers BIS, send the service books, register them on their network, etc etc and then try to wirelessly activate them.

Also, is there anything different about the users who have the 8300 in Active Directory permission wise?

No, there is nothing special with these 8300's. They work fine as phones on AT&T

Can either of these users be activated wirelessly with a 7xxx series device?

How far into a wireless EA do the curves get? Do you have an Enterprise BB data plan for these devices? What if you switch SIMs from a known working BB to this device; does it work?

Red face Sim

I'll call AT&T today about the SIM cards and I'll swap a card into one of the 7xxx phones also.

Thanks.

Default Wireless

The wireless activation gets to nowhere. Justs sits there hung after I put in the wireless activation password.

Wireless activation always sucks. (Seems to work about 20% of the time for us.)

We have several 8300s on BES w/ E2K7 - working grrrrrrrreat.

Can someone define "BIS" for me?
I have a user that just bought an 8300 using AT&T and it will not activate. She was fine on her old BB on TMOBILE. All other users are fine. This 8300 just never makes contact or something.
TIA
Drew

BIS = BlackBerry Internet Service. Have the user contact AT&T and make sure she has a "BlackBerry Enterprise Data plan". I think it is $10-$15 / month more than the personal BB plan which does not let you Enterprise Activate / use a BES.
