Default Search by Imei # in BES 4.1?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys,

Just got onto 4.1

there used to be two view in 4.0 one where you can o0rder by imei #

in the new version seems to be only one view and if you want to see the Imei for that user its in there details.

It also has a nice search for Name, Pin etc.

But not one for Imei that i can see?

Anyone wanna shed some light on this or something im missing?

Cheers

Maybe I am misunderstanding, but you can customise the views in 4.1

Add the "serial number" column, this is IMEI
You can then sort by this column

Yes you are correct, you can customize views to see IMEIs. But you cannot search.

No, it's not a perfect world, but you can export the user account information from the BES and then import it into Excel or a hefty text editor where you can then search or sort by serial/IMEI number.

All good but found one problem..

If you put Imei (serial) into your view and do a export of stats to notepad. If you look at the data the Imei numbers dont get exported

If you can get into SQL Query analyzer ...

Connect to your BESMgmt database and execute:

select u.displayname, s.imei from userconfig u, syncdevicemgmtsummary s where s.userconfigid = u.id

... that'll give you a dump at least.

You could also use OSQL to execute this and redirect the output to a txt / csv file.

Right-click the view and use "Export Asset Summary Data" and it exports the IMEI just fine.

It should show the IMEI number just fine with "Export Asset Summary Data" It just uses Serial Number instead of IMEI for the column header.

It's easier to see if you import the text file into Excel.

Default Search by Imei # in BES 4.1?

My install still has the legacy mmc, i think it was an option when i upgraded to 4.1. under all programs, blackberry enterprise server it lists it as "Legacy BlackBerry Manager MMC Snap-in"
hope that helps
