Hi all,

I'm facing an problem with the Instant Messanger in my Company.
I'm unable to add a person to the Buddy-List when using the messanger on the Blackberry device.
The buddy list which has been created on my desktop client (Notes 6.5.4)
is shown correctly.

When I try to add a person I'll try it in this way:
Open IM client on BB --> Log on-->Add Person --> [email address] --> OK

Then I'll get "You have selected an invalid address."
I have tried it with the notes shortname as well. Same result.

Sometimes it works when I use the address in the format:
e.g. : Michael Meyer/Hamburg/DE/BAT

about 1 out of 20 times it works.

But I don't want the users have to type all this stuff...

Anyone an idea??

Make sure the person document for the user on the messaging server running Sametime has correct information in the short name, user name, and Internet Address fields.

I have doublechecked the adressbook on our sametime server.
Everything looks okay.

Any other idea's??

There are problems with Sametime and BES 4.1.4.
To quote a portion of an e-mail from Blackberry Tech Support when asked about BES 4.1.4 vs Sametime issues:

We are able to reproduce the issue internally and have targeted the issue
to be resolved in BES Domino version 4.1 Service Pack 5 (with the use of
the Enterprise Messenger for Sametime version 2.0, which will be released
together with this Service Pack).
So essentially it worked in 4.1.3, the busted it in 4.1.4 and plan to fix it in 4.1.5.

OK, slightly off main topic, but... I have never managed to get my BES server talking to my SameTime server.
I have searched for a nice and easy "howe to configure SameTime on BES" guide and not found one.
Does anyone know of such a document? Ta

Thanks, but was looking more for docs about server config (both on BES 4.1.3 and SameTime 7.5)
Got the client on the devices fine, but don't think BES and ST are liking each other at the moment...
