Default LND - Personal Address Book, Briefcase tab attachment support

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I searched and couldn't find it, but does anyone know if there is support for the attachments area of the briefcase tab on a personal address book entry.

I noticed the comments section on the form gets replicated out to the handheld, but not the attachments.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Have you changed the global field synch in BES?

There are too many fields in a native notes PAB entry for the BB to deal with (not sure whether this is by design or by accident, but that's the way it is)

Log on to BlackBerry Manager for the BES
Select "BlackBerry Domain" at the top of the explorer view
In the right-hand pane expand "Service Control & Customisation"
Click on "Edit PIM Sync Global Field Mapping"

There you will see the current Desktop (notes) > Device field mappings

OK, have just checked PAB design, and the raw field you want to redirect is programatically named "Briefcase"

Cannot see an option to redirect this in Global. Will check to see whether I can override this on an individual user basis... and I can't.

All I can suggest now is that you contact RIM, and query why "Briefcase" field in a notes PAB is not available in the Address Book Desktop Field list under PIM Synch Field Mapping on BES 4.1

I would guess that the field type (i.e. embedded attachments) would not work well with the design of the Address Book on the BB device. But only RIM will know that for sure.

Yeah, well I told the user to put the info in her journal, which pushes out to the device just fine, or, move the info to the comments field, which does map, but has a character limit...

Thanks!
