Default Meeting request on the BB

Please Login to Remove!

Hi. Running BES 4. Sp 1 Hot Fix 3 on Win 2003 SP1 against an Exchange 2003 Enterprise SP1 server. Using a BB 7290.

The CDO.DLL version on the BES and Exchange servers is: 6.5.7226

When someone sends any of our blackberry users a meeting request, the request isn't sent to the handheld and it sits in the exchange mailbox.

This is causing problems as a number of users don't use desktop outlook and rely only on their BB's.

Should the meeting request be delivered to the handheld for them to accept?

The documentation for Hotfix 3 says: Previously, meeting requests could not be received on certain BlackBerry Connect™ devices.

Does this mean it should work on our 7290's?

Help!

It should work. Yes. Depending on if this is only a few people experiencing this problem you might try deleting the Desktop [CICAL] service books and make new keys.

If some email isn't being delivered you might also want to concider doing the same to the [CMIME] book

I'm very new to BB and we are having the same problem here. BES 3.6 on Server 2k3 with Exchange 2k3. I feel stupid, but how do you delete the desktop service books?

on the handheld, go into Settings/Options then Service Books.

typically this simply meant that BlackBerry Wireless Sync was not set within the user's PIM settings within Desktop Manager. you may want to make sure that its set. If it is, set it to MS Outlook and OK out of everything then go back in and change it back to BlackBerry Wireless Sync and OK out of everything.

Thanks!

I figured out what our meeting request problem was. The BB services on the BES are run by a service account and someone had changed the account password, but the passwords on the services themselves had the old one and stuff stopped working. I finally threw all of my energy into it this morning when my BB stopped recieving any e-mail at all. I was quite nearly traumatized.

That's kind of a strange question. For example, I have one service account with the appropriate permissions that I use on the BES. It is used to run the BB services and is also the exch mailbox. Are your meeting requests not working on the BB's?
