check the other 10 or so topics on the first page of this sub-forum concerning wireless calendar synchronization. they all discuss CDO.dll, which is most likely where your issue is happening.

I found this:

Calendar not synching
This is a known issue with the BlackBerry 7100, 7250, 7290, and 7520 due to their ROM versions.

RIM has updated their ROM in order to support this. The ROM version you need is 4.0.2 or higher. In order to obtain this ROM version, you will need to contact your carrier (e.g., Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.)

RIM, ROM. While i could see that may affect SOME cases, its highly doubtful that it affects ALL cases, or even MOST cases, or even a small majority of the cases.

I would think that 90% of all calendar synchronization issues with Exchange BES, especially those posted on this forum, can be traced back to the confusing wording of CDO.dll in the Installation Guide and/or someone skipping over the part about CDO.dll. RIM should simply word that they need atleast ____ version of CDO.dll at a minimum, but to use the same version from the Exchange server when installing CDO.dll (my interpretation of what they have versus what should be practiced is never in their favor).

To be honest, with my EX2K ESM installations on our two BES servers, CDO.dll has never been installed. I'm not really sure if its even supposed to be installed, as its not required nor needed for ESM to be installed. I always have to update ESM to the same level of Exchange patches as our production Exchange servers and then copy the CDO.dll to the \bin directory in the Exchange installation, then register it there. I then copy it over to the \system32 in %windir% (no registration of the DLL). If an Exchange patch has to be installed after this point, and if CDO.dll is updated in that patch, it will now update during the patching.

Thats just my opinion atleast.

*Edit: What in the heck do they mean by ROM? Are they referring to the actual handheld software/OS? If that is the case, then I'd LOVE to see a provider actually have that available. Its good to know that RIM has released 4.0.2 but the carriers have only tested and released 4.0.0.xxx...

*Edit 2 - @astcell: The note you posted has to do with WIRED synchronization of the calendar using CompanionLink. *slap*

I had a similar problem. I went through the mess of checking CDO.dll on all 30 exchange servers, etc. Which btw is definitely something you want to check, ours were all out of whack. It still didn't work. Turned out a blackberry device reset fixed it. Never underestimate the power of rolling down the window and then rolling it back up. It is a Microsoft World
