I do have some CDMA envy at times. And then I remember that I have signal issues in two important places... home and the office.

Default Will 4.5 fix the Bluetooth stack? - 02-11-2008, 03:51 PM

I am anxious to pair my 8820 to my Macbook Pro, but the current Bluetooth Stack has a fatal bug that requires a full battery-pull in between every connection, and even then only connects about 5% of the time.

Anyone know if this will be addressed? Please? Please?

(Also, I thought 4.2.2 provided stereo bluetooth -- at least I sort of get it, but the volume control never worked right with my headphones (wi-gear iMuffs), so I kept the iPod).

I'm hoping there's a mistake/omission in those lists. They show "Bluetooth Stereo Music (H)" for the 8100 and 8800, but NOT for the 8820 or 8830 or any Curve model.

Now if it was just the Curve's that they were saying wouldn't have it, I'd be worried - but is it possible the 8800 WOULD while the 8820 WOULDN'T??

the Curves already have Bluetooth stereo music. I believe the 8820 and 8830 do as well, though i will find out here in a sec.

EDIT: nope, 8820/30 do not. Though all 83xx do.

Just wondering since I am new to the BB Curve will I need to do something for my BB to get this update when it is released or will AT&T push it to my phone?

I checked and wasn't able to find the answer.

Edit: Murphy's law strikes. I found the link about upgrading the BB for my carrier after posting this.

Yeah, to make it sound like they have been making new changes as opposed to sitting on the same rev for along time

Dawg we are using a logarithmic scale for the days. so 1 day, 10 days, 100 days, 1000 days, etc by the time we get to the 7th day, we will have OS 10! (perhaps they will even have animal names for the OS by then )

I don't know if the bugs are holding off the release or there are political reason (like RIM and carrers having an agreement not to update software for old devices for x number of weeks/months so that new devices like the Pearl 2 get good market penetration because 4.3 is already out on Pearl 2 then why we still have bugs in the versions for 88xx or 83xx builts, doesn't make sense to me.

4.3.1 (not 4.5) is not anywhere close to the same OS as 4.3. 4.3 is used as a base yes, but the additional features are alot more than just minor updates. and i seriously doubt RIM would keep 3 devices selling and not update the rest of their devices just to get better market penetration.

I predict there will never be a 4.5, it like that elusive pot at the end of the rainbow...
