Not bitter, just want full capability....kind of like owning a blueray player and hooking it up to a tv that only supports 480 or 720p....pointless...you arent gaining anything...just wasting potential.

So its my first try at any 4.5 and I got the latest. I'll list my the things I like about it over 4.2:
1. New format of messages is much easier to view/read. even includes the little contact photo I have for many.
2. New alpha fonts are much clearer and better than any prior
3. Some decent browser improvements but can still make leaps and bounds there
4. "Remotely" searching your mailbox... great feature.
5. Setting security color for enterprise messages no longer forces barber shop diagonal stripes but a nice background outside the border. Been wondering why this wasn't like this day 1.
6. video recorder works better than showtime on my jailbroken iphone.
7. "Dimension L" theme now my favorite. combines best of both zens.
8. activity log option on address book contact is cool way to see all activity from that user. very helpful.
9. Docs to go not bad, will be limited but useful at times.
10. All of our (3) in house made apps still work.
11. New divider for address list, either line or color stripes is great addition.

Anyway good stuff, nothing breakthrough but all needed features when devices like the iphone exist now. They should make the 9000 with the intel atom then maybe they'd solve their batt issues.

Does it display 'sent' times on sms messages? Strangely this is the only thing that really bothers me, as I can only get received times (which are useless if you're travelling by train or underground).

Wow I am saddened that you are all experiencing all these problems with 4.5. I personally love the os and have not experience any of your issues. Memory is fine no leaks, you tube amazing, email incredible new browser loving it. L shaped theme amazing. Wifi and uma much faster

You guys are as crazy as I am. The only thing I noticed about .37 was crackle during a call. At this point, its been on the producers desk for such a long time, with promises for release, that its not going to be worth the download. I personally think were setting ourselves up for a major "let down" when it is finally put out there.

Its kinda like having sex for the first time. It was over and done with, before you got started, And in 20 years, are you even going to remember it?

How is the music player in 4.5? Does it support playlists? Does it have a fancy UI like Flipside?

OS 4.5, brought to you by the same Dev Team as the Duke Nuke'm Forever project!

I am going to go ahead and nominate the CDMA version for the annual [H] Vaporware of the Year award.

Well, I have to say I had enough fun of the 4.5 and had already downgraded back to 4.2.1. All in all, huge improvement as already stated but still need more tweaking.

Three pages and we haven't covered the first post!

Can anyone report: Does 4.5 enable an 8GB microSD? If so I'll take the risk and go beta.

This was covered a long time ago. OS 4.3 enabled 8Gb cards. 4.5 enabled even higher when they come out.

4.5.0.37 stable here so far.

UI improvements alone are worth the upgrade IMO, do love the BBAlpha Sans font and more relaxed look/feel in Messages/Address Book/Calendar.

GPS works fine in BB Maps, also in Google Maps provided I open BB Maps first, Start GPS Navigation then exit/start Google Maps. Maybe this is because I just backed up the 4.2 version and restored it as part of the OS install.

Opera Mini 4.1 worked first time too, poss for same reason.

Well since I'm running the latest for my 8310, 4.2.2.194, I don't have any benefit from the 4.3 release. So, are you telling me there is a new higher limit with this beta? Different tenses have me confused.

Aside from the video and voice recorder there's not really much else in this update that changes the look & feel or usability of the device.

I already have html email with empower and actually prefer the options in that app to the native implementation. Word document editing is cool but it's just a 3rd party app. Media player is still slow and no gapless support. No real notable improvements to mail or browser.

This was supposed to be a 'big' update but it doesn't seem that way and there's nothing in here that's going to put the blackberry OS experience on par with an iPhone anytime soon.

If anything, I hope this update allows me to use a 8GB microSD.

hey format your 8gig sd card IN the sd adapter ON your computer and then take it out and you will be able to use the full 8 gigs on yout phone...

I see everyone praise the new browser but no one says WHAT they like about it. Can someone please tell me what's so great about it compared to 4.2?

You know, it's so long since I upgraded to 4.5 that I can hardly remember life before. Certainly the browser is faster and is more like the desktop experience. But the main advantage of 4.5 is the more friendly look/feel of the PIM apps, and you get BBAlpha Sans which is a very clear font.
