BB Messenger Contacts are still reset during a device reboot. Will this issue ever get fixed?

It must have something to do with the BES server.

The only issue I've ever had is that convos are lost during EA. I've never lost my contacts.

This thread topic pertains to a GSM 4.5.0.52 OS and not a CDMA OS

I wish they would fix the media player bug when you want to skip tracks, it encounters an error This has been in the last 4 builds of beta software.... They have to be aware of the issue

I've been told it IS fixed in .6*. There is another bug with .52, when "Content Protection" is enabled, from time to time BBM will freeze up and you will lose your contacts.

I just tried YouTube on my 8300 with 4.5.0.52 (rel75) and it works! Too cool! A bit laggy in spots, but for the most part, it just works. I figured an appropriate test would be the original Numa Numa song...

The video seemed to lag the audio a bit in parts, but it was hard to tell. Also, about half way in, the whole thing choked a bit momentarily. But for the most part, it worked - both "in player" mode and fullscreen.

I'm sure this will appear primitive down the road, but for now, it's pretty exciting...

Followup: Interesting - at my office I have a strong EDGE signal. At home, a mediocre GPRS signal. At the office, YouTube worked beautifully, but at home, when I tried loading up the "original Numa" song, it played for a bit, then the picture started to appear pixelated and corrupted and then it froze. I pressed the menu button and selected Replay - and immediately wound up with an "Uncaught Java Exception: -1>= 16". Ah well...not bullet proof just yet. So far everything else with the entire phone with .52 works fine it seems. But it also seems clear that this is not the final version by any means - still a bit more cleanup before a solid production version is ready.

Wirelessly posted

That would make sense. Think of signal like amount of bandwidth. The more signal you have, the better. I watched a trailer of a movie on youtube today in a jumpy area and it played, but also skipped quite often. I'm home now with full edge service and the trailer played perfectly.

I'm running rel75 on a 8310

This is totally off topic and I apologize in advance but I just tried to watch a YouTube video on my 8310 after reading vinmontRD's post and it worked for me too! Oh happy days are here again!

I just tried a Youtube with .52 on my 8300. It tells me that Java is off or I need flash player. I've tried Internet and Blackberry browser settings.Where did I go wrong? Javi is "on" in the settings.

Yes it should. 4.5.0.18 was several releases ago. Many bugs have been fixed since then.

I'm using .52 rel75 on an 8300 (unlocked) with T-Mobile, and I can say that all of my 3rd party apps seem to work just fine, including:
- jivetalk
- viigo (tango beta)
- google maps
- opera mini
- bbweather
- weatherbug direct
- maratick
- MS Live Search

Only issue I've had so far with this release is the volume problem. I can't imagine why it has decreased sooooo much. Anyone have a fix?
