Default OS 4.5 Bluetooth Profiles

Please Login to Remove!

I read somewhere (PC Mag maybe?) that OS 4.5 is going to allow stereo profiles for the 8100/8800 for listening to music, but not 8830.

Does anyone know if this is true?

Thats really the one thing I hate the most about the 8830. I have a 4 gig microSD card for music and movies, but listening to them over the speaker is too intrusive, and listening with ear buds are annoying.

The 8830 already has A2DP Stereo Bluetooth profiles. It doesn't need OS 4.5, which is why it's not listed as a new feature.
You just need OS 4.2.2.176 or higher.

How does that work then? When I'm in Media player, I only see the option to activate handset (or speaker depending on which mode I'm in)

Once I pair up a device that has the a2dp profile, it should be available in the media player? I upgraded from an older version of 4.2, so I might of been at a release before the support was added.

Now I'm dieing to leave work and try it. Thanks everyone!

I've been using my S9 with my 8830 since I got it, works fine on 4.2 When you pair your headset and should it have the correct profile, you will be able to play music over the headset. Thats all. if it doesn't support the right profile, you're out of luck.
