thank you mr/mrs sanders i do have a question for you personally though, how is your unlocked phone working on your service provider? do you have any missing things like the books that are sent to the phone or are you missing internet service? do you feel it is a plus or a negative to have this great phone on your particular provider unlocked? do you have delayed service?

The only thing I am missing is 3G from ATT, since the Storm does not have that bandwidth. Using EDGE is slower, but ok for now, just to enjoy the Storm has been fun.
Everthing works find, browser, mail, GPS, Telenav, etc.
Nothing is delayed. The service is no different than on any other ATT BlackBerry.

Were you perhaps in an area with no CDMA coverage, and "roaming" onto a GSM tower?

Anyone notice their battery draining at a rather alarming rate?
I have my backlight timeout set to 20 sec and brightness set to 80. Before I did the update (back on the .75) I would not drop below 50% on an average day's use. Today, which was realtively average I found myself below 20% and the days not even over...
What gives?

One of two things fixed that for me (or the combo) and that was a second battery pull OR taking my Storm outside and letting Weatherbug finally get a GPS loc.
After I had installed .103 I didn't run any apps all day to see how the batt would fare. Needless to say it discharged in about 12 hours. I wish I had done the second batt pull and waited to see the result so as to rule out Weatherbug, but I messed up. However, many folks are reporting the same issue who don't even use Weatherbug.

It was working fine for me. Left it charging overnight and woke up to a dead phone. Did a battery pull. It took a while for the red led to show up but the screen is still black. Nothing happened. Anybody has any suggestions besides rolling back to .75?

Having exactly the same problem here. The battery died incredibly fast (like 8 hours.) Also the memory leak was huge. This morning the I awoke to a very dead phone (that was plugged into the charger.) Rolling back to .75 as I type.

that's strange...aside from typing and supressing alerts lag I think this is the most stable build I have encountered yet (for a leaked beta release atleast)
Battery life was perfectly fine while streaming slacker for 2+hrs I was at about 65% which is a bit extraordinary, but I was streaming radio ffs...
Strange you guys are having this problem, I hope future builds can fix that!

I've been debating if I want to download or not, running .75 currently. I think your post made up my mind, I'll wait for the official release.
I've asked this before but I haven't seen an answer: How come so many leaks in such a short period? How do we know this is the final version?

typically, leaks occur because they are trying to have us product test, and hopefully gauge feedback based on the user responses, in this case we are the guinea pigs...
we should consider ourselves fortunate that these are RIM sanctioned leaks because they're trying to make the Storm a very competitive device...
but IMHO don't knock it before you try it, each device is different as mine works fine, while others are experiencing problems, the worst that could happen is you'd have to roll back...in most cases if you know how to upgrade, this is an easy task...but again it's up to your discretion

Has anyone run into an issue in .103 where you pressed the menu (blackberry logo button) several times because it keeps bringing up the switch application/task bar screen? Everything else works as fine as .99 but that little annoyance is just bothering the heck out of me.

9530 .103 missing alerts occasionally? -
02-13-2009, 04:12 PM
Not sure if this is due to the .103 upgrade? I missed an appointment today because the alert did not sound. Created a test appointment and the alert sounded. I have also see email come in and the alert doesn't sound but the LED flashes red, and other emails come in and the alert does sound. It seems intermittent.

How is this update w/ the lockup where it leaves the backlight on full?
I've been having to do 2-3 battery pulls a day and it's getting real old...
(I'm still on .90)

I haven't had this problem but I do know that .90 was buggy. So far .103 has been more stable than .75 but not much of a difference from .99. I'd say go ahead and install it.

Get rid of .90, .99 fixed that bug and it's not present in .103 either.

And what about the "3G" network? I drove from NC to Chicago - through several large metro markets, and never had a 3G notification on the phone - always 1XEV. The manual says the difference of 3G vs. 1XEV is being able to talk on the phone and send/receive e-mail at the same time. Has anyone EVER had a 3G network symbol - and if so, where were you?

Jamaica works great! It's like 2 bucks per minute. But the phone switches back and forth like a charm.

make sure you only have one OS installed on your comp...if you do, then try reinstalling or wiping before you upgrade, if you don't go to control panel>add/remove programs>remove all BB OS versions that are installed (make sure not to uninstall your DM)

I couldn't resist - downloaded this morning.
I don't think it's a "battery leak" if you turn on garbage cleaner that will pretty much slow it down to a crawl. Web speed is faster. Smoother over all in performance. Portrait full key board. So far I've found only one negative thing and I can live with this: I can't use my pictures as wallpaper.
Speaking of pictures, camera is so improved from 075! I haven't tried taking a new picture and putting on as wallpaper, maybe I can do that.

The only problem I am having with .103 is that I can't send and pictures that would be sent to me. Even if i save them it won't let me send them. It just puts a blank white box. I can send pictures I take but not ones that are sent to me. Any ideas?

if you have first day of week set to monday in calendar options, then when you go to week view, your calendar will be blank.
first day of week set to sunday, week view works fine.

Camera not stable and freezing... -
02-16-2009, 11:52 AM
I have been running .103 hybrid with .90 on tmobile. Everything works great except for the camera and some freezing issues. Sometimes it takes it and sometimes it doesnt. I autofocuses and then as i press it to take a picture it clicks and flashes like it took a pic but it did not in both portrait and landscape. It freezes randomly. During a game. Under heavy load, multitasking. I have to actually have to take the battery out to recover.

k, i have now updated my BB to the 103 aswell and running now since i woke up. 10am EST.
i noticed the odd lag, i see the differences.... i like it. have yet to try camera which stated about for auto focus cuts in and out, now im curious. lol.
thanks to anyone who helped me recongnize how to get 103 loaded, now i get how it works. =\ lol
Quick Question - anyway to access the SD micro's actual folder from the phone, not from pc. as i have already put things on it, ie. i put music and few games, music all shows, pictures, videos, but games happen to not appear anywhere.

Well I isolated things down and found out that Poynt seems to be chewing up my battery something fierce... Anyone else?
Otherwise things are going very well on .103 - glad I did it!

I upgraded to .103 last week. I had .99 and .90 before that. Prior to .103 I was doing a battery pull about twice a day because stuff would quit working correctly. Since I upgraded to .103, I have not had to a single battery pull. My current File Free is 15MB, but the phone is working fine.
