I have downloaded. Waiting to here some feedback. I am running the 99/90 Hybrid right now and am pretty happy other than the camera issue in .99

The issues I have had really have only been effecting people like me with an unlocked 9530 on a GSM carrier.

Also curious about the HTML functionality in e-mail - will this work now?

And what about the "3G" network? I drove from NC to Chicago - through several large metro markets, and never had a 3G notification on the phone - always 1XEV. The manual says the difference of 3G vs. 1XEV is being able to talk on the phone and send/receive e-mail at the same time. Has anyone EVER had a 3G network symbol - and if so, where were you?

I had 3G in Taiwan but not here in the US but then again they are on GSM over there. I'm wondering if it's a GSM thing only.

For you Verizon customers 1XEV is 3G, you will not see the 3G icon unless you leave the US and roam on a 2100MHz GSM carrier.

1XEV does not support voice and data at the same time. I personally think it is deceptive marketing on Verizon's part.

Yes, GMM has worked good for me on GPS, routinely located 2-7 meters.
Again, though, I too am using the 9530 on ATT.... EDGE.

I used it a few minutes ago. within 10 meters. FYI I have also had Poynt installed for a while. It was officially just released and everyone is claiming it unlocks Google Maps with Latitude.

Haven't tried Google, but GPS with Poynt works great with GPS on Verizon.

I am a Mac user, so I have not been able to install any of the Beta versions. I just upgraded to the new Missing Sync 2.0. Will this install it?

Loaded with CrackMem....took 16 minutes start to finish with no errors. No problems, not much of a noticeable difference so far. Google Maps...no change. Not suprised on that though. Will post updates.

Problem I kept having while playing mp3....adjusting volume rocker making the track repeat to the beginning....seems to be solved. Can press volume up and down repeatedly without affecting track position.

Orientation switch is faster.
Keyboard speed seems about the same.
Boot time is a little longer, no VSOD or Card issues
Color banding... depth still isn't back to pre .99, fade still there
Media player is fine
Camera response is better but shutter still lags a tad.

What's got me scared is batt life. After 12 hours of use with only 1 email and no calls and no background apps I went from 90% to 30% batt. Under that kind of minimal usage I was getting 3+ days of batt life. One diff in the load was I always have Network Tech set to 1XEV and it was on global. I changed it back and recharged. Will let it run over night and see what's up in the AM. Obviously more obdervation is required.

SO far .103 is by far the best I have used since .85...and without the bugs...
the speed is there, the media center is impecable, the browser is amazingly fast and I get 1XEV connectivity in my HOUSE (which I never have before!)

def. a worth while DL!

scrolling on the home screen is a lot faster, memory is stable for now, I will start doing some rigorous testing tomorrow and report back, but so far SO GOOD! (fingers corssed I don't jinx it...)

Default 9530 OS 4.0.7.103 - works fine... - 02-12-2009, 10:35 AM

Just loaded this up last night on my Verizon Storm and it does make things faster - the light saber app makes noise now too - LOL!
I "upgraded" from the Verizon base of .75 and followed the instructions you find over in the crackberry forums. No issues whatsoever. I am just in the process of activiting back on to the BES - hopefully that should work without issue as well...

I think that you are wrong. I can talk on my storm and surf the web at the same time - and have done it many times.

Stable after about a day. Seems to respond snappier to button presses. Still buggy while listening to music over A2DP (random disconnects between songs).

GPS "temporaily unavailible" Google Maps 3.1 and 4.7.0.103 OS (Verizon)
I have never been able to get GPS to work - including on BBMaps.
Poynt also goes to Cell Tower and NOT GPS so I don't know what gives.
I have the GPS setup to Device GPS, Location On and Location Adiing = Enabled... Is there anything else or are we just "stuck" here?

I have had it work on BBMaps...just make sure your GPS settings are correct and your Location is set to ON

(I have not gotten GMaps to work with GPS yet either) you should keep trying to get BBMaps to work, just do a "Map It" and select BBMaps as your default and it should pick it up...
