Read the 9000 beta 5.0 threads. Same issues. Mostly applications don't work on 5.0 yet.

Run, don't walk, back to .206. 5.0 just isn't done yet.

question,

when they say theme settings get reset, what do they mean?

I really can't think of anything except icons being re-arranged along with folders and hide/unhiding of icons?

What else falls under theme settings?

I'm assuming profiles should be safe as well?

Don't assume ANYTHING is safe.

Honestly, I didn't see anything in it that made me want to keep it. BBM contacts are all double spaced, as are phone logs. Profiles were lost, apps didn't work and the list goes on. It's just not done yet.

I have had some better luck. The profiles did get reset and I had to set those back up. Most of the applications I use work just fine, though. I still have .206 as a back up just in case. For now, though, I like 5.0. I will see if it is as solid as .206 over the next couple of days.

A whole sub forum dedicated to beta software...

Beta 5.0 for 8900 leaked

And I believe that posting links to beta software is frowned upon.

+1. Other than some visual changes, my BB pretty much could not run my apps. I'll hold off. The OS upgrade lasted a whole 30 minutes, then I downgraded..... Maybe next time.

Not sure why. I, like lots of people, don't check that section and still would like to be made aware of possible updates for my phone. Seems that any talk about a specific phone should be allowed in the section created for discussion of that phone.

There is a video out there showing the new features on an 8900. given that it is an early beta, and not all apps work with it, I'm quite happy sticking with the current legit OS as the new features are relatively minor... (that's not to say that it isn't generally nicer...)
