Been running this build for for 48 hours, battery life is okay, but memory leak is worse in this build than the .231 build.

There is so much memory in this phone that memory leaking is the last of the problems in my opinion.

231 feels faster than this one. the cursor moves slow when inside folders that didnt happen as much for me when using 231.

so...is there a consensus about .239 vs .231? I've been running .231 for a while, and it's been fine, generally. If .239 doesn't add any value, and the battery life is worse, it doesn't like a really enticing build (even though I already have it downloaded)...

Recommendations from those who have tried it?

Battery life on .239 is amazin on my 8900...I just got 2 full days!!! This includes frequent Viigo usage, phone, txt and emails...

With previous builds, I got one day to maybe 1 1/2 days of battery life. Solid build in my opinion.

my phone is usually constantly charging so i cant comment on battery live.
but i see no improvement over 231 worth upgrading to. i upgrade to a new OS as soon as it comes up just for the sake of upgrading and giving me something to do haha. if you are like me than sure, upgrade.
if you are someone you waits for useful upgrades or is happy with what they have then i would stick with 231

I was having a huge Memory Leak problem with .231, since I have my 8900, I always have had almost same apps and my free memory was always between 112MB -118MB (After a battery pull) , with .231 and same apps running, memory went down to 112MB just by resetting, and then a after a couple of hours I was seeing 98MB free. I upgraded to .239 problem solved, everything back to normal, ~118MB after battery pull and after a day of normal use Memory is still at ~113-114.

For battery, well, a lot of variables affects this, for me it has been the same for all latest OS.

I seemed to have perfectly good experience with .231 for the past couple of weeks. Battery life was fine, memory seemed fine. Normally, after a 14 hour day, I'd still have about 75% battery...

Today for some reason, I was down to about 25% battery by 4pm -- very strange. Was wondering if an app wound up eating battery for some reason, although I can't imagine what was different today. I *did* install the free version of upvise to try out, and I know it sync'd to their server, but I have trouble believing that could have been the issue.

Anyway -- thought this was a good excuse to try loading up .239, which I did about an hour ago. So far, so good. I *do* wish that my downloaded apps would somehow retain my logon credentials and settings across OS installs. It's gotten to be a ritual for me to open each and every app after an upgrade, "Accept" their terms and conditions, and re-enter all my info. Especially annoying in BeeJive, since I have to reenter credentials for 4 IM accounts!

Oh well -- all entered, and everything seems to be working. I'll see how it goes over the next few days...

I'm getting a feeling that battery life depends more on various combinations of apps running and radio coverage (e.g., UMA vs EDGE vs edge vs GPRS vs gprs) during the day (and hence, searching) than it has on recent OS versions. I had been doing great with .231 for a couple of weeks -- huge battery life -- then yesterday it used up a full charge in just a few hours -- same OS. Jury is still out for me re: battery drainage reasons.

Hopefully, though, .239 will prove OK -- to be seen.

Re FB: this is weird -- when I first installed 1.5 it worked ok. Then at one point I received a notice to upgrade 1.5, and I went ahead and did it -- with the BB asking me if I wanted to replace 1.5 with 1.5. It turned out to be a different build, and it's been fine -- except that I've had 2 icons ever since.... despite only 1 version showing under Applications now that I deleted the old one. Battery pulls, etc, have no effect.

No harm I think, so I just hide of the icons -- but this is odd.

More battery is lasting a bit longer on .239 compared to .231. I haven't had any battery pull problems when a custom theme is set either. .239 is seeming pretty stable to me.

Werd Up.

Had some email problems with .206 so I installed .239 yesterday. The older OS kept "forgetting" that I had email set up and the icons would disappear. Several reboots were usually necessary to get it to boot up with my email running. I use yahoo email through BIS and my company email using BES. I also had some seemingly random reboots. And the device would not reboot at all if a memory card was installed.

Install of the new OS went smoothly and BES reactivation was quick using Wifi. So far .239 seems much better. Only problem I have noticed is that Pandora and iHeart radio do not work well with my S9 Bluetooth headset. If I start listening with the BT headset then it will lose connection to the headset within a short time and starts playing through the speakers. BT is still active when this happens. The S9 works great with music played by the media player so I don't think it is a BT problem as such - more likely is that those programs don't output properly to BT...

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry Curve 8900)

I moved back to .231 after a couple of weeks. I kept having quirky issues. Sometimes the LED would stay solid after I checked messages, and sometimes the AutoStandby program I have wouldn't go in to standby. The tones also sounded lower on .239 compared to .231, but that is minor. For me, .231 is a better OS.

Been 3 days for me on .239, and the battery life seems better than with .231. Also, I'm finding that the UI feels a bit less laggy than what I experienced with .231. Also - memory usage seems good with this release. So far, so good...
