What is this?? Can it be? Do we have the new BBM files for the Storm? I believe we do!! A very nice friend who works in the 'UK division' was nice enough to send this over. We have the files for the new BBM for OS's 4.7.1, 4.7, 4.6.1, 4.6.0, 4.5 AND the new 5.0's.

Storm BBM files
Tour BBM Files
Bold BBM Files
8900 BBM Files
Curve 83xx BBM Files

5.0 BBM Files
5.1.0 BBM Files

To install just extract the zip file on your computer. Remember the location. Open up Desktop Manager and click on Application Loader. Under Add/Remove Applications press Start. When the screen comes up with all the apps on your device, select Browse and navigate to the folder you extracted from the zip. Choose the BlackBerryMessenger.alx and click next. Then just wait for the phone to reboot and walla, the brand new BBM 5.

Full install instructions with pics

Alternative download site from MegaUpload

OTA for tour:

here

Looks good so far. It asked me if I wanted to overwrite a couple of files, and I said yes. I doubt I'll ever use it but the 'bar code' idea is pretty cool.

Sweet! Will it delete existing contacts or convert them over?

BB Msngr 5.0 on my Storm 9530 works great, it works on my 8320 curve as well, it's definitely worth testing it out.
