Default Help with BBM upgrade 4.5-4.7 - 07-22-2009, 02:18 PM
Im currently trying to upgrade my BBM 4.5.077 to the BBM 4.7. Does anyone have a download for that? Im trying to do this because i need a version higher than the one I have now so I can get BBM 5.0. When I download BBM 5.0 right now, I dont have any BBM icon, not even the old one. Can someone please help I've been trying to find a download but I cant find one anywhere

Welcome to the forums.

You can't install BBM 5.0 using OS 4.5.0.77. You will need at least 4.5.0.160 on your 8330. Follow these steps to the letter:

Once you've completed installing .160, then try downloading BBM 5.0 again.

I'm stuck on step 2 T_T.... when i go to my computer and click common files i dont have a reasearch in motion folder

When you downloaded the file, you must double click on the .exe file to install it on your PC.

Nevermind got it thanks. Wait when I install it on my BB, does it wipe out everything including my contacts?

Check the box to create a backup. It will backup and then restore all of your data/settings/applications. I would create a manual backup first. Better safe than sorry.

Desktop Manager (DM) is a program that allows you to sync your device to mail clients such as Yahoo!, Outlook, etc. It also allows you to install applications on the device, as well as create backup files of your data, etc.
