Default 9530 OS 4.7.0.167 Leaked - 09-03-2009, 11:50 AM

According to BlackBerryNews.com 4.7.0.167 has been leaked for the 9530: http://www.blackberrynews.com/2009/0...-found-online/

Has anyone used this OS yet? What are your opinions? I'm currently running .151 and it's the best/fastes/most stable build yet, does anyone know if .167 is any better or worse? I'm downloading .167 now and will probably install it later tonight but would like some preliminary opinions.

I've had .167 on my wife's 9500 for a couple weeks, no problems, all good.

I'll let you about on the 9530 shortly.

Yes. Between the 9500 and the 9530, its hard to determine whats a beta and what is not. Doe sit matter. With the Storm 2 coming, I am glad the original Storm is not neglected

This is very true, and I'll be the first person in line at my Verizon store the morning the Storm 2 comes out (okay, maybe not the first, but I'll be there upon opening). But until that mysterious date (possibly October 14th) I want the most out of my Storm 1.

PS - Installed .167, first thing I noticed is that it's becoming more and more like OS 5.0 with the fades on hover and the clickable signal bar and clock on the main screen. Also, speed seems on par with .151 and memory usage is about the same as well. Other than that, nothing else to report at this time.

Just noticed today that this release contains Quincy (RIM's remote bug tracking program). So if you wish to install this software on your BB, make sure you uninstall Quincy form your system first.

Guess I'll be reformatting my BB again tonight...

Install at your own risk. This is Leaked/Beta software that is not guaranteed to be stable, and therefore will not be supported by RIM or your wireless carrier should you run into some problems. As a precaution, if you decide to upgrade, it is highly recommended that you make a backup before using this software. If you are not comfortable using Leaked/Beta software you should probably wait for the next official release.

No flick scrolling in .167, sorry. You'll probably have to wait for 5.0 for that.
