Default Flag e-mail - 10-02-2009, 11:25 AM

The flag e-mail feature is built into the 5.0 OS. I think its limited. I dont see a way to sort or filter flagged e-mails. Am I missing something? With all the reviews, i did not see a writeup for this feature

Go into Messages > Search. At the bottom where it shows type, change it from All to Email With Flags.

Thank you. Your info is helpful but it looks like I still have to put in a search term to look within flags. I want to just see the flags.

I left every field blank and just changed the setting mentioned above, and the results only pulled the emails I have flagged.

No problem. I learned myself by you asking the question. Never tried it until I read your thread. So we both learned something new! !

Input the search as mentioned above, press the Menu Key, select Save. Name it along the lines of Flagged Email, then set the Alt key as F. That should create the shortcut you are looking for.

It did work for me. I used the letter E, but it did work.

Also, I called my saved search, "Flag."

Where is it?

I ask because in my setting the letter f is now gone

I go into Messages and press the menu key, from there I select Search
I scroll to the bottom and change Type to Email with Flags
I press the Menu Key and select Save
I set Title as Email With Flags
I set the Shortcut Key as E.
I press the Menu Key and select Save.

Then I go into Messages and press Alt + E.
It then pulls up all flagged Messages.

You can set the Shortcut Key to whichever letter you have available.

I hide sent Messages and Alt + O is set to show all outbound messages, so I use that a lot. I also have Alt + A set as sent SMS messages, Alt + Q as sent MMS messages, etc. I use these pretty frequently to filter what I am looking for.

I hope this helps clear things up.

I would try a battery pull and then try again. It should work.

I am thinking a battery pull will fix the issue with F.

To find what you have assigned...

Go into Messages > Search > Menu Key > Recall.

From there you can delete or edit your saved searches.

Yes. It is a great feature. If you are not using 5.0. Fabian created a similar free app for those users

Weird, mine already had alt-f set as flagged emails. This is 8900 running 5.0.0.238

Also, the W key seems to set the flag then set it to a checked flag if you press again.
