Default Browser Issue with OS 5.0.0.238 & BB 8900 - 10-12-2009, 11:17 AM

Ever since upgrading to the new OS 5.0.0.238 on my 8900 Curve I have had a browser issue. It defaults to the "hotspot browser" and if I'm only on EDGE without Wi-Fi it won't let me use it unless I switch to the Media Net browser.

When using OS 4.6 I had the "internet browser" that would work with Wi-Fi or EDGE. Now I don't have that option. I've resent service books many times and still haven't gotten the option for "internet browser". I'm on AT&T btw. Anyone else have this issue?

Have you tried a battery pull?

Might need to resend service books a couple times.

Since it is a Beta OS, it is hard to say what is going on.

Tried it twice and still no luck. It doesn't look like it's sending me the service book for the internet browser. Anyone else on ATT have this issue?

You need to perform the generic service books browser fix.

Odd...I've upgraded through the 4.6.x.x's, up to the 5.x.x.x's (.90, .100, .130. .190., 238) on the 8900 and have had no browser issues at all.

Hmmm...only relevant issue that may be different is that you're on AT&T and I'm on T-Mobile. Perhaps the service books *are* handled differently across the two carriers in this regard...
