My Ringtones still seems to be messing up with this one. It's actually the only thing wrong I've found.

I'm wondering if this is similar to my last version's Bluetooth problem. Maybe changing how the profiles database is set up? So restoring old settings not being compatible? I'll try clearing my profiles when I get home and start from scratch. Hopefully that is the issue! I'll post the results.

Works great on my 8900. Very fast, all apps run 10x better, browser is a lot faster, EDGE works good. Minor UI upgrades. Best build so far.

Thanks MrKyoo. Were you able to run IdeaMatrix on other OS5 builds as well or is this the first one where it works.

If I can recall correctly, I've used it on .130, .238 and .314. I use IdeaMatrix daily so it is important for me to have this app working.

wiping means something like formatting the phone, and restore with new OS BBSAK is the application to handle wiping and restore....

My phone cod keeps failing.... I've had more overall problems (really just annoyances) so far with this over the previous version. Hope a really clean version is the one release to the public.

I have been running this for 48 hours now with no problems. I downloaded over .238 and used Crackmem to get rid of what I did not want. Battery usage is better than .238, although available memory is a little lower. I did not have to do browser fix for AT&T as it seemed to transer over from .238. All applications were working but no Visual Voice Mail at all. I copied vvm.alx file and the vvm cods from Java folder in .238 to .314 and VVM is working like a charm. Browser seems to be snappier and new icon colors are nice. This is the best OS I have used to date. I am sure an official release is just around the corner.

Got it up and running this weekend. So far everything has worked smashingly. All apps running. The only thing I can't seem to get running is the contact sync with my gmail, the email app keeps taking me to the old bis site and all that shows is the sync deleted items. The weird part is the T-Mobile website shows it.

Been running this OS on my Bold 9000 for the past few days....Great OS...a few bugs still but I'm sure they will be fixed in coming builds...no random reboots, battery life if great, memory is ok...had one weird call quality issue, but other than that...perfect

I installed over 5.0.0.238 without wiping. I've been running .314 for about three days. So far, it's pretty good. I get fewer random resets--almost none in fact. I still get non-random (i.e., predictable) resets under certain conditions, such as scrolling while zoomed in the BB browser. This was a problem even under OS 4.6.xxx. Certain web pages with a lot of stuff in them just seem to cause the device to fail.

The problem of distortion in the Voice Notes app, which was present in .238, is fixed.

The "more" feature in mail is erratic. Sometimes the "more" option doesn't even appear in the menu, when it should be there. Other times, it's there, but selecting "more" doesn't bring the rest of the message in until you back out of the message and then re-load it. This definitely needs fixing.

There is a lag when taking the BB out of the OEM leather case. It takes a second or two before it will accept password entry.

OperaMini loads okay for me (I had the OS 5 version with .238) but once I'm in it, it doesn't work properly. Pressing '5' to zoom, for example, isn't working. I haven't played with it too much yet, though, so I may just be doing something wrong.

My general impression is that this release is more stable than .238, with some bugs squashed, and a few new ones.

I updated to the latest version and noticed that when I hit the BB menu button the home screen image disappears and I get some white/gray background which is present even when i enter folders.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Ya, there are no VVM files in 5.0.0.314. You have to manually install them from 5.0.0.238 to get VVM to work.

Been running for a couple days now and it's been pretty solid. I have however noticed a couple of problems.

1. I've had a few random restarts.

2. When I change the wallpaper the homescreen is changed. However, when I press the BB button and go to the list of all my icons it still shows the previous or default wallpaper.

3. When I try to install a theme from my SD Card or Device Memory I get an error: "The server indicates you either have insufficient access rights or the file is too large for the requested operation". I've installed themes using this method before and haven't had any problems.

4. In the previous OS I had the option to select how many thumbnails per row I had in the pictures folder. I can't seem to find that anywhere on 314.

Any suggestions?

Just install new BBM from BlackBerry mobile page. If you have backup (remote or on Memory Card) you should'nt have any problems with it.

Thanks for the quick reply. I used FileScout and I can install from my SD Card again!! As for the rest of the issues I guess I'll just have to deal with them until a new OS is available. Thanks again!

I did a battery pull and a message came up saying BBM was archived. Do you want to restore?

I clicked restore and now it shows up under applications>add-ons, but I can't find it anywhere else.

Ideas?

Update: I deleted and reinstalled the app and still missing.

HELP!

After years of doing these upgrades without a problem, I have hit my first hitch ever.

I'm running the upgrade without doing a wipe beforehand. The loader loaded everything and the device seemed to be rebooting after a nice BlackBerry screen with a progress bar finished reaching the end. Another reboot started, and now for the last 2 hours, my 8900 is still showing teh T-Mobile boot-up screen.

Can anyone provide any help? What should I do next? Should I interrupt this process? Expert advice needed please.

Thanks in advance.

Default One small issue......anyone else? - 10-26-2009, 09:02 PM

I love this OS so far, but I found one small issue today. I am on a BES and if someone sends me a calendar invite, it shows up as a normal email, and i don't have the menu options to ACCEPT, which means I can't add it to my calendar. Has anyone else noticed this?

Could someone be so kind as to zip up the vvm files? I deleted my copy of .238 and I can't find it again.

TIA.
