i upgraded from 4.6 to this version and didn't have vvm before and have it now

Yup, I've had two reboot loops that required battery pulls so far.

Had a little problem with the ringers on this upgrade, I noticed the sound for BBM had changed and when I attempted to test it in the profiles menu it would tell me the ringer was invalid.

I went to the ringtone section in the media folder and played a few that had come up invalid. After I played them I happened to get a message in BBM and it was once again using the correct sounds. Also in profiles the "try it" button worked correctly, so not sure what that did, but that's what worked for me!

Otherwise seems like a great update so far..

Would someone be so kind as to post some step-by-step about how to get Visual Voicemail working on 314?

I have the icon, but when I go to it, it takes me to a Tmo site where it tries to add the VVM service. Then it can't.

Not sure if this is a Tmo provisioning issue or if it's a software on the phone issue.

1. copy all VVM files from .238 in program files/common files/research in motion/shared/loader files/.314/java to same folder for .314
2. copy VVM .alx file to program files/common files/research in motion/shared/loader files/.314
3. use app loader to update should be good to go

Installed it last night and the lag i had on the 238 its gone now and i can say it works faster than before....loving this new release!!!!

All my all-day appointments are showing as 12A-12P on my BB now with this version on my 8900. They're still fine in Outlook. I'm on a BES....anyone else have that problem or know how to fix it?

This is just my own opinion due to experience with installing a new blackberry OS official or leaked. I have had zero issues with any install (reboots anything else) and I believe it may be due to the fact that I am not just doing an upgrade which basically overlays the new OS. I always do a backup of everything and then wipe the phone completely of all data and the current OS. I use BBSAK to do this however you can use DM or the app loader in program files. Just my two cents and maybe if you all try it this way you too will have no issues. So far for me .314 is awesome. Everything works fast and I have not found a single app that doesnt work for me. It has nothing to do with the upgrade. It is 1 of 2 things. Either you are on exchange 2000 or you are on exchange 2003 and haven't applied the DST patch to the server. Everything will be normal come Monday.

How do I stop the MMS/SMS separate mailbox? I'm getting them into my main message list, but also to a separate icon, which constantly shows a new message. It used to be part of the theme, but its not there anymore.

go to inbox, then options, main message list settings and uncheck it there

I want them in my main box, NOT in a seperate icon. Currently they are in both.

So just hide the sms icon?

Any word if the block all incoming call (gsm based feature) option is back when setting up profiles?

Enjoyed it on all of the 4.6's and upgraded without realizing I'd lose the feature. It's almost a deal breaker as far as 5.0 goes.

I did, but the new folder pass thru notification still appears.

funnily..as much as you may think i didn't do a thorough job, i did use google as my medium. which is why i asked. because i didn't find a working link or i found suspended links. then again... you may just think that i'm dumb..

Loving .314 on my Bold

I have been very happy with running 314 on my 8900 for the last several days. So far, it seems that everything is working except that the internet browser is not there. Some things that did not work very well on 4.6.1.250 are working great now. The BT issues that I had, such as cutting out on music are no longer problems. And one of the biggest perks is the streaming SMS. Now I just need to do the browser fix...

I have accepted two meeting invitations since doing the BES activation on Monday. Both allowed me to accept and showed up on my desktop calendar. I suppose a problem could be related to the settings that the BES sysadmin has for device users.

I'm the BES admin and it only happens to me since i've done the upgrade. Everyone else can do it fine and we are all on the same IT Policy...

I don't know what happened, but I just posted this and the post disappeared...

Anyway... ZAGAT TO GO version 7.0.57 stopped working for me after the upgrade. I tried uninstall/reinstall, and it didn't work.

After selecting my carrier from the initial screen and hitting next, I get following message:
Unable to load screen:
root.ChangeLocation.ChangeLocationStart

Anyone else experience this as well or want to try installing it to see if it will work for you? You can go to m.zagat.com to get it.

Maybe you can tell me, then. Can IT policy prevent having Internet Browser on the BB? I have tried resending the service books from the ATT BB site and still have no Internet browser - just BlackBerry Browser and Medianet...

No visual voicemail when I updated to .314 for AT&T. Anyone have the same issuess?

I initially had the same problem. I followed the instructions a few posts up and it works fine now.

On a separate note, I am having a wifi issue, every time I check the box to turn it on it unchecks right after. Any one else having the same problem or know how to fix it?

ive had this os running on my newly purchased 8900. Great upgrade (the OS)!!!
i have tried to install opera mini (whatever the current version is) and also the beta 5. I get to the installation screen, but where it asks me to accet tos, i cant do anything... yes i clicked the bb button and clicked accept, also click on link to no avail. The new bb browser is a great improvement, but I use opera as I have alot of bookmarks syncd to my desktop and use the same on the fly...
any one installed opera mini on this os?
