Default OS 5.0.0.314 - annoying bug in the calendar - 10-28-2009, 10:24 AM

With this software, I can't enter a new calendar entry the way it worked before:
I enter a start time, then, an end time. Example:
16;30 start, 18:45 end.
Now, istead of accepting my input, the start time is automatically set to 0:00 the same day.
The device even refuses any attempt to correct this problem.
The only way to overcome this, is, to enter a start time, and then, the duration of the appointment.
(Or to use the painful scroll-through option for the end-time).

I have not changed any settings, and I am sure this worked before.

Is there any setting I can modify, or is this simply a bug ?

Thank you

After installing - I had a few 3rd party app issues as well as some calendar syncing problems. I resolved all my problems in one shot by using the security wipe feature. Syncing and re-installing applications (no biggy) made everything work flawlessly. I also backed up the device before doing this in order to restore a few select items such as browser bookmarks, WIFI accounts and speed-dial numbers. I would try this if I were you.

I also ereased the device before installing, and then reactived it for the BES.
But this is not a problem which AFAIK is related to previous version on the BB.

This is a change in the functionality of the calendar.

I'm having the exact same issue as the OP

I did a security wipe before installing, the install went flawlessly. I noticed this (bug/feature??) before I added any 3rd party programs. All I did to restore my data was sync, not restore

The only 3rd part programs I now have are viigo, wsjmobile & google maps.

Do have quick entry on or off? I have my off, can hit enter, and put the title of the meeting in. At that point, I hit enter and it saves. If I need to edit it further or invite people I have to reopen it.

Alternatively I hit C to open and new calendar item and enter the data. All works fine. Not sure how you are starting. Where do you enter the start time.

See my tip sheet.

Tried with Quick entry both on and off

In the new/modify appointment dialogue, what I've been able to do in the past is enter a start date/time followed by and End date/time, by using the keys on the keypad instead of the drop down box. So, to enter a start time, I move the trackball so that the start hour is highlighted and type 16 to set a start time of 16:00, then to set and end time, I move the trackball to highlight the end time hour and type 17 to get 17:00, then menu button and save

Now, with .314, what happens is that I can enter the start time as before, but when I move to enter the end time as above, the start time goes to 00:00. The only way to set a date, without using the dropdown box, is to enter a start time and a duration

The (inofficial) release of the bb os before this one was ok.
Two release earlier it was impossible to enter an eppointment using the keyboard - you had to use the 9500 like input method (pain).

So. It looks there is nothing wrong with me (besides using a non release beta version).

I Wait for the next "release"
